Where would a New Mexico gardener go on vacation?  Well, Hawaii is lush, the opposite of here, and it is nice to see things like mangos and avocados on the trees.  I think we had the best pineapples ever as well.  Every day we would stop at a farm store, buy fresh produce and look at the trees bearing these delicacies.  Another highlight of the big island was the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden. Do not miss it if you love plants, or even if you just love beautiful things.  It has a long history to it, and a lovely couple from the main land came and started carving it out more than half a century ago.  Good for them.  It celebrates much beauty and diversity.
